The Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is proud to be 'Bringing the Christmas Spirit back to Bairnsdale'. Amongst a range of festive activities that are on offer in Bairnsdale during the Christmas period, the major event is of course the Bairnsdale Community Christmas Parade, which will be held along the Main Street on Saturday November 29th, from 11:30am until 12:30pm. In what is sure to be an exciting experience for young and old alike, the parade will include display floats and marching teams, comprising local community groups and organisations, businesses and government authorities. The parade will be full of noise and colour, with local emergency services taking part, merry musical entertainment and performers and naturally the 'star of the show', Santa! The Bairnsdale Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is sending out a warm welcome to everyone in Eastern Gippsland, to come up to Bairnsdale City for a great day of fun and festivity. We invite you to celebrate Christmas with us, share in the spirit and perhaps find a bargain or two... Merry Christmas Everyone!

HEALTH SERVICES

Rural health is all about people. The people who need it, the people who deliver it, the people who run it. Such a vast region needs care and attention and it is a continuing priority of all who are involved to deliver the best services that are possible.

This means that we offer all types health of services from within the region. From mobile to static, primary health through General Practitioners to Dentists we have it covered.

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service operates the major hospital for the region. From this location a total health care facility is offered to the community ranging from emergency to aged care. Specialist care and the latest medical equipment are available for diagnosis and treatment in local areas.

Throughout East Gippsland in towns such as Omeo, Orbost, Paynesville and Lakes Entrance, hospital or health services are provided. Some bush nursing centres and health centres exist in other areas.

Private practitioners including GP’s, Dentists, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Natural Health specialists are all available in our region.

Whilst East Gippsland attracts its fair share of top professionals in their field, there are always opportunities for more qualified staff to work and live here.

With a growing older population, it is good to know that East Gippsland has some of the best aged care facilities. But for those residents are are content to stay in their own homes a variety of in-home health services and ‘meals on wheels’ are available.

In the case of serious emergencies, towns and villages are linked with road ambulances, fixed wing and helicopter services, linking us to Melbourne when required.
