PUBLIC ART & ART TRAILS

Scratch the surface and unearth a unique journey leading you to artistic works or activities located in public spaces in our region. Eye catching works depict the essence of East Gippsland.

Experience and enjoy Public Art in many locations throughout East Gippsland including Bairnsdale, Orbost, Nowa Nowa, Paynesville, Mallacoota, Lakes Entrance and Metung. From colourful pieces of broken tiles meticulously placed to create incredible mosaic masterpieces to wood carved and modelled into depictions of early settlers, each tells a story or presents a viewpoint that is linked to the community or region.

Consider an Art Trail as the way to explore, by town or by medium – the choice is yours. A day out in the region on an art trail will introduce fascinating places and fascinating faces. Visit the local Visitor Information Centre to pick up a copy of Up, Close & Personal our guide to art, culture and heritage in East Gippsland or for more information on art trails in the region.
