GREAT ALPINE ROAD

Explore one of the most notable touring routes in Australia. The Great Alpine Road reveals its many stories whilst you savour incredible scenery and high country hospitality.

Our towns are Omeo, Benambra, Swifts Creek, Ensay and Bruthen all within the Great Alpine Road region of East Gippsland. The road peaks at 1.825 metres, the highest year round accessible bitumen road in Australia.
Wind your way through the Alpine National Park and the High Country on top of the world. Each season brings another opportunity to enjoy every part of this region.

Chill out in Winter as it transforms into one of Australia’s most challenging snowfields. Spring & Autumn showcase locally grown produce, nature’s wonderland of wildflowers or autumnal hues. Put on your walking shoes, jump in the saddle, peddle downhill or wade through a stream after a wild trout in Summer; the Great Alpine Road brings out the adventure in you.

Expect your senses to be heightened. View historic sites ranging from the Oriental Claims and Victoria Falls to Cassilis and Swifts Creek. Taste great food and wine. Wonder at the scenery above and beyond your expectations. The Great Alpine Road is ready for you to tour.
