GIPPSLAND LAKES

PAYNESVILLE, EAGLE POINT & RAYMOND ISLAND

Paynesville is surrounded by Lake King and Lake Victoria in the middle of the Gippsland Lakes. Canals carve their way through the town to offer a unique waterside locale. Raymond Island, just off the shoreline is a nature lover’s paradise and home to a large koala colony.

Boats, boats and more boats. You will fall in love with the nautical here. Quietly sophisticated but family friendly you will have a truly water filled experience. Stay on the water in accommodation offering private jetties at your door. With a great shopping and dining culture here, you are set to explore on your own boat or just hire one. Water or jet-ski, boat, sailboard or kite board, you have found the perfect playground.

Raymond Island is accessed by a car ferry that departs regularly. Only a two minute trip, take your car over and drive down many roads or bush tracks to find Koalas in their natural habitat. Drive to nearby Eagle Point and the Mitchell River Silt Jetties. Only the Mississippi River silt jetties are longer than ours.

The 90 mile beach and coastal parks are all accessible, so take a lake break here.
